About Us

Hi everyone!

I’m Audrey. I began my yoga journey 5 years ago. This practice has brought a lot of peace, healing, love, and gratitude into my life. It has significantly changed my life for the better, and it continues to shape and transform my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being in a positive way.

A huge part of my practice is my yoga mat. I love my yoga mat! I use it every day, in the morning when I pray and meditate, and at night when I workout. It has become a safe space for my mind and my heart, and a playground for my body and my spirit. I owned my very first yoga mat when I was in High School. It was a really cheap one from the dept store. I remember always getting bruised knees and chapped elbows, because my mat was too thin and didn’t give me enough support. I’d often slip from my own sweat. And I would always ask for a new one for Christmas, because they would wear and tear so easily, and I was too tipid to buy a good one. It was only when I started taking classes in yoga studios that I realized how much a good quality yoga mat can make a huge difference in your practice.

There are so many yoga mat brands in the world, all with amazing different designs and features of their own. However, most of the really good quality ones can be really expensive. I believe that a good yoga mat is an investment, but it also shouldn’t cost us that much. I also believe that our yoga mat could be as beautiful and as inspiring as our practice and our lives.

After setting a lot of intentions, doing extensive research, collaborating with artists and suppliers, trying and testing different types of mats, and practicing yoga in between, I’m so happy to share with you Aham Yoga mats. Combining all the best features of the best yoga mat brands, these are made with an eco-friendly polyurethane top layer & natural rubber base for a superior grip and great durability. With a 5mm thickness, it has a high-density cushion to give you the support you need. It has a closed cell structure, so it’s more hygienic. And as for the designs, I intentionally wanted to highlight four things I’m grateful for that truly inspires me – the ocean, the universe, the sun, and the earth, all beautifully designed in partnership with Kara Pangilinan. And of course, it comes with a purpose. A portion of all profits will be donated to 2KK Tulong Sa Kapwa Kapatid Foundation to help support less-privileged Filipino communities.

In case you were wondering, Aham (अहं) means “I”, the transcendent self, or infinite consciousness. It comes from “Aham Brahmasmi”, which means “I am the absolute reality.” One of the most powerful things yoga has taught me is the world around us is a direct reflection of what’s happening inside of us. Everything begins with ourselves, with our minds and our hearts. And since we are all interconnected, we have the power to impact the world around us. When we take care of ourselves, we are able to take better care of others. When we shower ourselves with love and compassion, that same energy and vibration will overflow to our environment. And when we practice mindfulness, intentionality, gratitude, and generosity, we can tap into our inner abundance to create the life of our dreams. And when we thrive, our community thrives. When our community thrives, we thrive.

I created Aham Yoga as my way of sharing this beautiful practice to the world. Two of my favorite sanskrit mantras are Aham Prema and Loka Samasta Sukhino Bhavantu, which means I am Divine Love, and May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all. I hope these yoga mats remind you that you are divine love and you are capable of sharing so much love to the world if you share it with yourself. And may they also bring you the same happiness and freedom that I get from my yoga practice.

Thank you and namaste!

Love,

Audrey
